Why We Exist

Candlelighters International exists to provide believers in Christ and others interested in Christianity with carefully researched information and well-reasoned answers and pointers to various aspects of personal edification. Our target is to encourage believers in their faith and equip them to intelligently represent and put into practice the Christian way of life. Shining the light of God through Jesus Christ in a dark world.

The State of the World

The world today has never been in need, in the genuine biblical sense, of a strong manifestation of the power and guidance of God almighty. Considering the state of the global economy and the general state of the human condition, it could be said that humanity has never been at such a dangerous crossroad. Some will say that with all the technological advancement mankind is getting better and is better placed to cater for itself. Others will indicate that the gross decay of the moral fabric of planet earth is gearing up as the destructive force that will control these advanced technologies for mankind’s destruction. You will agree with us that technology in itself is not bad, but the hand that drives or control it determines whether it is used for good or evil.

For such a time as we find ourselves now, absolute truth and its absoluteness in a creator God, has been relegated to the fringes, and relative truth and its relativistic tendencies of anything goes (your-truth and my-truth syndrome), has captured the minds of many. It has therefore become increasingly difficult to be able to identify evil and sin. Evil is now considered as Good, and good as evil.

As for Morality, in cases where parties even try to come to a consensus on the meaning of the word itself, “morality” has emerged as to be determined by personal subjective views. Making sense of all of the mess in thought and action that is taking place around us, is not only a difficult task to today’s parents; worse of it all is the fact that their children have given up trying. As such, while parents are plunging into anything that provides temporal spiritual support, their children are racing to actually play with the spirit world, in a dangerous fashion that does not prepare them for which visitor they might be inviting from the opposite site.

To all minds that are awake, it is obvious that by God’s providential grace, there is a current reset taking place; in which and through which the genuine biblical principles pertaining to all facets of our human living is being reconsidered again for the purposes of redirecting our human existence away from self-destruction.

At this dark and dangerous point of human existence, to every listening ear, it is evident that all creation including all deeply rebellious hearts are waiting and longing for the manifestation of some kind of a savior – just like Romans 8:19 indicates.

It is within such a backdrop that, we, as a network of believers, pull are resources together to undertake the task of helping people to make sense out of the messy situation, particularly in the current days of massive and excessive information dump.

Helping us all learn how to deal with sin, the world, the flesh, natural life, and so on, is part of who we are. Entering into right standing with God Almighty, is our ultimate target; and radiating His glory to a dark world, is our ultimate assignment. These aspects constitutes part of why we exist.

The State of the Church

With almost all visible signs revealing that the prophesies of the last days are being fulfilled within our watch, it is evident that spiritual apostasy on a global scale is also weakening the Church. Many Churches are now compromising the true message of the Gospels in exchange for the world’s approval. Many Christians do not even know what they believe; talk less of defending it against any attack. Those Christians in “apostate churches” who think they know what they are standing for are completely zealous over the wrong truth (lies of the devil). The proof of apostasy is being seen in our societies and communities that are increasingly reflecting a general sense of godlessness. As a result, many believers today have stopped attending church all together. Most are feeling like they have no place left to turn to for the truth proper to the Word of God. Many have resorted to forming their little house groups (House Churches).

Also, there are many people today who are coming to Christ without being ministered to by or through the traditional Church structures. They need to be strengthened for them to mature and develop a deeper and healthy spiritual relationship with the one true God, through Christ in the power of the Holy Spirit. These groups of persons particularly need sound doctrinal guidance and support so as to avoid heretic offshoots. This includes part of why we exist.

The Impact a well-equipped Christian life can bring to the community

Christians believe that they serve a God who is all loving, all powerful, all wise, and all knowing, and who owns the silver and the gold, who gives power to make wealth. The God who owns and manages all the resources needed to leave an impactful life on earth while preparing for eternity. If this is the case, then Christians should be at the forefront of all the areas mentioned here above. If they are not, then either God is not what is attributed to Him, or Christians are not tapping (or does not understand how to tap) into what God has for them.

This ministry, by the power and through the power of the Holy Spirit is here to serve as a pointer and an enabler, to as mean as that will seek to live an impactful Christian life within their communities, their spheres of influence, their careers, etc. Candlelighters International is here to support Christians in the development of their entire person in Christ Jesus, for the full service to society, in order to demonstrate and reveal God’s glory to the world. Extending heavens glory to the earth (on earth as it is in heaven).
